When the idea to create a blog first came to me, I thought that there were enough backpacking blogs already, but I wanted something different. First, most hiking publications tend to focus on the “prime locations”, from the Appalachians east, and from the Rockies to the west. What about those of us that live between the mountain ranges? Don’t get me wrong, I love when I get a chance to travel to these locations, but the majority of my trail time is spent closer to home. I want that to be reflected in this blog.
Secondly, while we love to be outdoors as much as possible, the other aspects of our lives tend to take the majority of our time. I want to show that relationship between “real life” and the activities that we love. I know that most people are not sponsored by a gear company and are not able to do the activities that we love full time. I also believe there are life lessons to be learned from our outdoors adventures. I want to share those lessons that we have learned.
With that being said, I should introduce myself. My name is Chris Shull, and I live in Missouri with my wife Tammy. We have both spent the majority of our lives in rural Missouri and enjoy finding new outdoor adventures and places to explore. Our love for the outdoors comes second only to our faith and family.
I’m glad you found our little spot on the web and I hope you return as new content is posted. Also, we love to hear from readers so please feel free to contact us and connect with us on social media.
Thanks for visiting.
